A Postulant is a candidate who is deemed ready for the next step into the Carmelite way of life. She has been received into the convent community. During this transitional phase from life in the world to the Religious way of life, she will receive daily guidance. In this way, she will be assisted to deepen, and clarify her faith, and become familiar with our customs and traditions. She will be guided to:

• grow spiritually and psychologically and thus dispose herself to make a free and responsible choice regarding her vocation
• prove the authenticity of her call to religious life and the charism of the Carmelites D.C.J.. By our understanding and guidance, we enable her to grow towards maturity in religious life.

There are a number of means at her disposal to help her do this:

• participate in the Sacraments
• spiritual guidance, workshops, talks...
• community prayer and private prayer
• various community exercises
• meals with the Sisters
• recreation with the Sisters
• time for instruction, study and spiritual reading.

The Postulants participate in our apostolic work and are given opportunities for appropriate continuing education based on each individual’s circumstances.
